Pulled Pork (slow cooker version)
Ingredients:
2 onions, finely chopped
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp cracked black peppercorns
1/2 cup Heinz chili sauce
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 boneless pork shoulder trimmed of fat (about 3 pounds)
Method:
Saute the onions in a little oil over medium heat until soft and lightly browned
Add garlic, chile powder and pepper and continue cooking for 1 minute
Add chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke
Stir and bring to a boil; simmer to reduce some of the liquid
Place pork in slow cooker and pour sauce over meat
Cook on low for 12 hours
Transfer pork to a cutting board and pull the meat apart in shreds with two forks
Return meat to sauce and stir
Serve meat on warm buns, or on its own, and enjoy!
